Day 1: CATANIA
Arrival to Vincenzo Bellini Airport. Transfer to the hotel. Dinner and overnight.
Day 2: CATANIA - ETNA - TAORMINA - CATANIA
Breakfast in the Hotel. Early departure by bus for an excursion to Mount Etna. It depend on the weather permitting you can take an optional excursion to the main crater, 3300 meters above sea level. Back to Santa Venerina where you can taste Etna Wines in an ancient local winery and have a lunch. Then the tour continues to visit the Medieval Taormina, in the Sicily’s most fashionable holiday resort; you can admire the Greco-Roman amphitheatre over a spectacular landscape of miles and miles of beaches and Mount Etna towering in the background. Before arriving to Catania, sightseeing of the Ciclops River, you can stop to Acireale, a beautiful baroque village and taste a typical ice cream or the local “granita”. A perfect conclusion to one of most compelling days in the tour. Dinner and overnight in a hotel located in Catania. ( Optional school of Sicilian cooking and dinner )
Day 3: SIRACUSA - MARZAMEMI - MODICA - RAGUSA
Breakfast in the hotel. Departure for Syracuse, walking tour to the archaeological zone and visit Ortigia. Transfer by bus to Marzamemi and lunch in a typical Restaurant. After lunch (if there is time enough) visit to a small fish packing factory: Tuna, anchovies. Then visit of Modica and tasting of typical chocolate. In the evening arrival to Ragusa. Dinner and overnight in the hotel.
Day 4: PIAZZA ARMERINA - AGRIGENTO
Breakfast in the Hotel. By bus we arrive to a farm house for a lunch based on Enna’s typical speciality. After lunch we reach Piazza Armerina to visit the Roman Villa. In the evening arrival to Agrigento. After dinner sightseeing of Valley of the Temples by night. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 5: AGRIGENTO - MAZARA DEL VALLO - MARSALA
Breakfast in the Hotel. Visit to the Archaeological zone and then go to Mazara del Vallo for lunch in an Arabic Resturant. Departure for Marsala and visit of a Marsala’s winery. Overnight at the hotel in Marsala.
Day 6: MARSALA - ERICE - SEGESTA - PALERMO
Breakfast at the Hotel. By bus to Erice to visit the Medieval Town, then stop in a historical Patisserie, based on ancient recipes of a local Convent. Then down to Trapani for lunch at Trattoria del Sale and visit to the Salt Museum. Afternoon visit to the archaeological area in Segesta. Overnight in Palermo..
Day 7: PALERMO - PIANA DEGLI ALBANESI - CATANIA
Breakfast in the Hotel. Morning visit to Palermo, then go to Piana degli Albanesi for a typical Sicilian/Albanian lunch in a typical restaurant, where you can taste what is considered to be the best dessert in Sicily, known as “cannoli”. In the evening arrival to Catania. Dinner and overnight at the hotel..
